Police have charged a Waldorf man with repeatedly raping and taking pornographic photos of a teenage girl more than 24 years his junior beginning in November 2010.

Kevin John Thompson, 38, has been charged with 17 counts, including second-degree rape, sexual abuse of a minor, child pornography, assault and other sex offenses. He was released Thursday on $50,000 bond.

A woman arrived at the Charles County Sheriff’s Office around 8 p.m. Tuesday to report that less than an hour before, her daughter had admitted over the phone to having sex with Thompson, according to charging papers filed Wednesday night.

The girl, now 14, spoke to a detective Wednesday afternoon, stating that Thompson had taken naked photos of her for several months during fall 2010, when she was 12, the papers state.

She said Thompson paid her $200 for the photos, which he was selling to someone else. Thompson would cover the girl’s face with a towel or shirt during the photo sessions, the papers state.

The girl also said she and Thompson had sex in November 2010 at a vacant home in Waldorf where he had previously lived. The abuse started up again in December and continued sporadically, culminating in a final Aug. 28 sexual encounter, the records state.

The girl was unsure of how many times she and Thompson had sex.

“She stated it was too many times she could not count,” the papers state.
