Detectives are seeking the identity of two men who robbed the Portside Liquor store in the 6900 block of Indian Head Highway in Bryans Road on Sunday.
The two men entered the store at 7 p.m. While one of them distracted the clerk, the other man walked behind the counter, took out a black handgun and demanded money, Charles County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Diane Richardson said.
The clerk complied and the robbers walked him to a bathroom near the rear of the store, but they fled once some customers walked in, Richardson said.
One of the men is between 6 feet and 6 feet 3 inches tall with a medium build. During the robbery he was wearing a black skull cap, black shirt and black shorts.
The other man is between 5 feet 7 inches and 5 feet 9 inches tall with a thin build. He had his hair in ponytail and was wearing a red baseball cap during the robbery.
