The Yellow Barn Studio & Gallery of Glen Echo Park will be showing the works of Julia-Latein-Kimmig and Maya Ormsby on Sept. 8-9. The collection, “The Way We See It,” will have an opening reception from 3-5 p.m. Sunday. Latein-Kimmig and Ormsby often work side by side, but transform and interpret creative stimuli in vastly different ways. Ormsby often is inspired by Middle Eastern, Byzantine and primitive art forms which bring vivid colors to her work and blend symbolically with Western-influenced techniques, shapes and structures, while Latein-Kimmig focuses on studies, sketches and collage pieces in order to jump start a lively exchange of ideas traveling the canvas, and leading her on her quest to explore the abstract. The Yellow Barn Studio & Gallery of Glen Echo Park is located at 7300 MacArthur Blvd., Glen Echo. Visit www.yellowbarnstudio.com.
