About 2,000 Pepco customers in Prince George’s County are without power, though only about 600 of those are due to storm damage from Saturday night, according to Pepco.
A fuse was blown on a utility pole in the Walkersville area around 8:30 a.m. Sunday, causing a feeder to malfunction and about 1,400 customers to lose power, said Courtney Nogas, a Pepco spokeswoman.
Nogas said Pepco crews are actively working to restore the feeder and said feeders typically service roughly 2,000 homes. She said power to those homes in southern Prince George’s County should be restored by Sunday afternoon.
She said about 400 of the customers affected have lost power due to the inclement weather Saturday night, which caused limbs to fall on utility wires and power to go out to individual homes throughout the county.
She said crews are working to repair those lines as well.
