A woman was found dead in a Beltsville park Wednesday morning and Prince Georgeís police say the woman was slain.

Around 8:40 a.m., county police officers discovered the body of Ingrid Lizet Martinez-Alvarez, 22, of the 7900 block of Riggs Road in Langley Park, in a wooded area of the Beltsville park near a creek in the 11500 block of Montgomery Road, said Cpl. Clinton Copeland, a county police spokesman. Copeland said the discovery was made by a resident, who then notified authorities.

Though it is being investigated as a homicide, county police have not released what type of trauma was found on her body.

Copeland said the body was transported to the chief medical examinerís office in Baltimore, which deemed the case a homicide.

Police are asking anyone with information to call the county police departmentís homicide unit 301-772-4925 or Crime Solvers at 866-411-TIPS to remain anonymous.
