The Albert Einstein High School, Kensington, Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony for the 2012 class will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, at the Rosensteel Knights of Columbus Hall, 9707 Rosensteel ave., Silver Spring.
A reception and dinner will precede the induction ceremony.
In addition to seven athletes and one coach who will be inducted in the Hall of Fame, Spencer Ferebee, class of 1985, will be honored with a Career Achievement Award and William "Lonny" Blair, class of 1971, with the Mike Heid Service Award.
The 2012 Class of Inductees includes:
Coach Ed Heincelman, wrestling; John Papuchis, '75, football and baseball; Greg Bokinsky Baharoff, '83, wrestling; Alan Ford, '86, football and baseball; Steve Shober, '86, football; David Sierra, '90, football; Scott Zimmerman, '86, wrestling, baseball and golf; and AJ Hoff, '89, basketball.
Through the recognition of past student athletes, The Einstein Hall of Fame strives to motivate current and future students to achieve their greatest potential in both academic and athletic endeavors, support the needs of the athletic program and provide scholarship assistance to deserving student athletes.
The group has also awarded over $115,000 in scholarships to Titan athletes.
Deadline for reservations for the dinner and ceremony is Aug. 31.
