BroadSoft of Gaithersburg, which provides Internet protocol services to the telecommunications industry, reported that its second-quarter profit fell to $2.4 million from $15.8 million in the prior-year quarter. Revenues rose to $40.5 million from $32.2 million.

RLJ Lodging Trust of Bethesda reported a second-quarter profit of $19.0 million, versus a net loss of $2.5 million in the prior-year quarter. Revenues rose to $223.3 million from $204.3 million. Funds from operations grew to $51.0 million from $29.0 million. Revenue per available room rose to $105.00 from $98.07, as occupancy grew to 77.2 percent from 75.8 percent and average daily rate rose to $136.09 from $129.39.

American Capital Mortgage Investment of Bethesda, a real estate investment trust, reported that its second-quarter profit grew to $32.2 million from $21.3 million in the prior quarter. Interest income grew to $34.7 million from $16.6 million. The company went public in August 2011.

Walker & Dunlop of Bethesda, a commercial real estate finance company, reported that its second-quarter profit fell to $9.3 million from $11.1 million in the prior-year quarter. Revenues rose to $46.7 million from $42.4 million.

Vaccine-maker Novavax of Rockville reported that its second-quarter net loss widened to $5.9 million from $5.0 million in the prior-year quarter. Revenues rose to $7.1 million from $3.0 million.

Gaithersburg biotech GenVec reported that its second-quarter net loss widened to $3.7 million from $1.2 million in the prior-year quarter. Revenues fell to $2.5 million from $4.7 million.

Sucampo Pharmaceuticals of Bethesda reported that its second-quarter net loss narrowed to $819,000 from $9.0 million in the prior-year quarter. Revenues rose to $16.7 million from $14.0 million.

Nabi Biopharmaceuticals of Rockville reported that its second-quarter net loss narrowed to $2.7 million from $4.6 million in the prior-year quarter. Revenues fell to $631,000 from $3.7 million.

Millennial Media of Baltimore, a mobile advertising platform company, reported that its second-quarter net loss widened to $2.2 million from $152,000 in the prior-year quarter. Revenues rose to $39.4 million from $22.4 million.

Annapolis biodefense company PharmAthene reported that its second-quarter net loss narrowed to $756,543 from $2.4 million in the prior-year quarter. Revenues fell to $6.3 million from $6.4 million.
