A man who lived on the same block in Riverdale as 40-year-old Ivan Alvaro Aguirre-Herrera has been charged with his murder, according to police.

Prince Georgeís County police have charged Kobina Ebo Abruquah, 40, of the 6200 block of Kenilworth Avenue, with first-degree murder.

Police charged Abruquah after interviewing him Friday, according to police.

He has been remanded to the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.

Around 4:04 p.m. Wednesday, officers responded to the 6200 block of Kenilworth Avenue to conduct a welfare check at the residence. Upon arrival, officers discovered the body of Aguirre-Herrera, who was pronounced dead on scene.

County police are asking anyone with information on the incident to call the county police departmentís homicide unit at 301-77204925 or Crime Solvers at 866-411-TIPS to remain anonymous.
