Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett is seeking applicants to fill 13 vacancies on the Wheaton Redevelopment Advisory Committee with four business representatives and nine residential representatives.

The advisory committee was established in June 2000 and is comprised of civic association members, business owners and residents of Wheaton. The committee advises the county executive, the director of the Wheaton Redevelopment Program and the director of the Department of General Services Center on all phases of the revitalization of downtown Wheaton which consists of preserving the unique character of downtown Wheaton while fostering investment and improving neighborhoods.

Committee members serve two-year terms without compensation, but are eligible for reimbursement for travel and dependent care for meetings attended.

Meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Wheaton Redevelopment Program offices in the Mid-County Regional Services Center, 2424 Reedie Drive, Wheaton.

The deadline for applications is Aug. 22.
