A Fort Washington man, who was released on bond for second-degree assault, was re-arrested July 18 after a grand jury indicted him on attempted first-degree murder charges.
Jeremy Eugene Lesane, 20, of the 1700 block of Felwood Street was taken into custody in the 1500 block of Alabama Avenue in southeast Washington, D.C., with the help of the Metropolitan Police Department, according to the Prince George’s Sheriff’s Office.
Lesane was transported to the D.C. Department of Corrections and is awaiting extradition to Prince George’s.
His July 11 indictment charges him with attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault, use of a handgun in a violent crime and illegal transportation of a handgun, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.
The indictment came after he was arrested and charged May 4 for a second-degree assault and reckless endangerment incident, according to online Prince George’s County district and circuit court records.
Calls to assistant public defender Anne Gold-Rand, who represented Lesane in district court for his previous charges, could not be reached for comment. Additional defense attorney information was not listed with the courts, according to online court records as of Tuesday.
