Blair Eig of Potomac, senior vice president for Medical Affairs and chief medical officer at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, was elected to the Maryland Hospital Association’s (MHA) Executive Committee during its annual membership meeting in June.

Eig also serves as chair of the Maryland Healthcare Education Institute, an affiliate of MHA.

He has served in his position at Holy Cross since 2001 — following 14 years in private pediatric practice — and is the longtime co-chair of the Laboratory Advisory Committee for the State of Maryland, a clinical professor of pediatrics at George Washington University, a former president of the medical staff at Children’s Hospital in Washington, D.C., and former president of the Montgomery-Prince George’s Pediatric Society. He also serves as chair of MHA’s Medical Directors Forum.

Eig will serve a one-year term on the executive committee, after which he will be eligible for re-election to two additional one-year terms in the position.
