Jacob W. Peabody of Rockville received the VADM Donald D. Engen Scholarship from the Naval Intelligence Professionals Foundation Committee.

Peabody, who is a student at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn., majoring in mathematics and economics, received $3,000 to be used for educational purposes.

The award is one of six given annually to the dependents of active duty or mobilized Reservist Navy and Marine Corps intelligence personnel.

Peabody’s father, Capt. Douglas A. Peabody, USN, is assigned to the Kennedy Irregular Warfare Center in Suitland.
