“Hairspray” continues its Montgomery College Summer Dinner Theatre run with shows Friday through Sunday, and again July 27-29 at the Rockville campus’ theatre arts building, 51 Mannakee Street, Rockville. Based on the film by John Waters, the musical sensation surrounds sixties teen and social pariah Tracy Turnblad, whose opportunity to dance on “The Corny Collins Show” changes her world, and the world of those around her. From the decade of the moon landing to the era of the Moonwalk - New York’s Uptown Dance Company will bring its tribute to Michael Jackson to the Publick Playhouse, with a final performance at 11 a.m. Saturday. The Difficult Run Jazz Band will bring its Big Band style to Celebrate Frederick’s Summer Concert Series this Sunday. The Washington, D.C.-based band features five saxes, four trumpets, four trombones, a full rhythm section and vocalists.
