A man who was shot Friday night in Landover Hills near a site where a vigil was taking place is now in stable condition, Prince George’s County police say.
Around 9:40 p.m., an adult male, who police are not identifying, was exiting his car in the 4700 block of 68th Avenue when he was approached by a suspect and shot, said Cpl. Larry Johnson, a spokesman for the department.
A vigil was taking place nearby for a person who had died of cancer, but Johnson said he could not confirm whether the victim was attending the vigil or not.
During the investigation, police recovered a silver Lexus sedan as a vehicle of interest in the case, according to the county department.
The man was transported to a local hospital in critical condition but is now stable.
The investigation is ongoing.
