Maurice Crittenden King, 90, of Thurmont, died Tuesday, June 26, 2012, at Golden Living Center in Frederick.

He was the husband of Anne White King, his wife of 60 years.

Born Feb. 21, 1922, at Kingstead Farm — King’s Valley, Damascus, he was a son of the late Leslie C. and Bertha M. Beall King.

Maurice graduated from Damascus High School in 1940. He was a life member of the Holsten Association; a 4-H All-Star member; pioneer member of the Montgomery County Agricultural center and fair, Gaithersburg; and member and former deacon of the First Baptist Church of Thurmont.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Maurice C. King, Jr., Anne Lynn and Jane Marie; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Gloria and Mary; and two brothers, Douglas and Paul; along with many nieces, nephews cousins and friends.

Maurice is preceded in death by a sister Jane King and brothers Robert, Charles, Irving, Harold and James King.
