After months of extensive research by Baden Volunteer Fire Department Station 36 firefighter Nathan Hedrick and a committee, the group’s president, Tony Hall, and RedStorm Fire & Rescue Apparatus Inc. officials signed a contract on June 11 to order a pumper tanker.
The tanker will have a Spartan cab and chassis with a custom fire body, and a 2,400-gallon water tank with a 1,750-gallon per minute pump.
The tanker is expected to be completed and delivered in spring 2013.
Without the donations and continued support from area businesses and the community, the Baden Volunteer Fire Department would not be able to purchase this greatly needed piece of apparatus, according to a news release.
The new, larger pumper tanker truck will replace a smaller tanker truck.
