Two Middletown Girl Scouts were recently honored for their participation in the organization.

Allison Young and Emily Fulton, both 15, were given the Silver Trefoil Award at a May 6 ceremony for the Girl Scout Council of the Nationís Capital.

The award is the highest award given to members of the Girl Scout Council of the Nationís Capital, recognizing girls who have performed 25 hours of international service, 25 hours of government service and 50 hours of service to the Girl Scout community.

There were 179 Silver Trefoils given this year.

Young has been involved in Girl Scouts since kindergarten, and Fulton has been involved since first grade.
