It Takes Two, a non-profit organization, is offering educational scholarships to students from single parent homes.

The scholarship is open to children in the fourth grade through college that have a 2.5 grade point average or above from Prince George’s County.

The deadline to apply for the scholarships is July 15. The organization is encouraging students to apply by the deadline so the awards go to the most deserving students.

Jaemellah Kemp, founder and president of It Takes Two, said the organization wants to help children in Prince George’s County, as well as those in the Washington D.C., metropolitan area.

“Our mission is to enhance the educational experiences for young people,” Kemp said. “It is our goal to promote the significance of education, build self-awareness and encourage our youth; ultimately creating tomorrow's leaders today.”
