Gaithersburg’s annual Independence Day fireworks display has been rescheduled for July 13.

The city canceled the July 4 event to allow Pepco to use the Montgomery County Fairgrounds, where the display is held, as its base for power restoration operations in Montgomery County.

The celebration, now titled “Finally, Fireworks!” will start with a two-hour concert featuring the band Bobby and the Believers at 7:30 p.m. at the fairgrounds, located at 16 Chestnut St. in Gaithersburg. Fireworks will start at 9:25 p.m.

Gates will open at 5 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.
