Wayne and Christie Marks of Waldorf announce the engagement of their son, Nicholas Marks, to Leah Hackmann, daughter of Carl and Carolyn Hackmann of Severna Park.

The bride-to-be is a 2003 graduate of Severna Park High School and received a bachelor’s of arts in 2007 from Coastal Carolina University.

She is currently pursuing her graduate degree as a reading specialist from Loyola University.

She is employed at Chesapeake High School in Pasadena.

The groom-to-be graduated from Westlake High School in 1999.

He received his bachelor’s of science from East Stroudsburg University and is employed at Chesapeake High School.

An April wedding is planned.
