Two players from Frederick County have been selected to represent the Maryland region in the 2012 Brine National All-Star Lacrosse Academy and National Lacrosse Classic. The Brine National All-Star Lacrosse Academy brings the top players in the country to one venue, where 16 regional teams compete for a national title in the Classic.

South Carroll juniors Dylan McDermott and Chad Slifer both will represent the Maryland region at the tournament, which is scheduled for Saturday through Tuesday at Boyds, Md.

Rising Gov. Thomas Johnson senior Richy Anderson committed to play football at the University of Maryland. Anderson, an All-Gazette defensive back, also played running back and wide receiver.
