An area-wide community clean up to celebrate the start of a sector plan for the Central Avenue-Metro Blue Line Transit Oriented Development Implementation Project is scheduled for 8 a.m. July 21 in areas to be determined around the Addison Road-Seat Pleasant, Capitol Heights, Largo Town Center and Morgan Boulevard Metro stations. A festival is planned from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. following the cleanup at St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church at 410 Addison Road South in Seat Pleasant. The Central Avenue-Metro Blue Line plan is a Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission effort to make the Central Avenue area more pedestrian-friendly and inviting to future economic development.
