Stephen Luther Munson, 67, a former Laurel resident who resided in Summerville, S.C., died June 14.
Mr. Munson, who graduated from St. Vincent Pallotti High School, moved to Laurel in 1946 when he was 1 year old.
He went on to attend the University of Maryland, College Park, before working for Project Hope, an organization focused on addressing the world’s health problems, in Washington, D.C. He moved with his wife and children to South Carolina in 1978.
He was preceeded in death by his parents and his wife, Kathleen Johanek, who died in 2008.
He is survived by his brother, Mark; sisters, Sara and Mary; daughters, Kellie and Amy; and grandchildren, Anson and Pearl.
A funeral service was held June 22 at Parks Funeral Home in South Carolina. The burial was private.
