The Lions Club of Burtonsville awarded Roy R. Hunt Memorial Scholarships to two graduating seniors from Paint Branch High School in Burtonsville on June 6.

Michael Barnes received a $2,000 scholarship and Patrina Bentum received a $1,000 award.

Barnes plans to study engineering at the University of Maryland, College Park and Bentum will study nursing at the University of Maryland, Eastern Shore.

The scholarships are given annually in honor of Hunt, a longtime Burtonsville resident and first chapter president of the Burtonsville Lions Club.
