The Appalachian Trail Training Corps recently held its spring Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills at Kemptown Park in Monrovia. The training is designed to provide adult leaders with the skills needed to take a group of Boy Scouts camping overnight.
Twelve instructors trained the 31 participants while seven members of Venturing Crew 121 served as staff cooks.
Classes include first aid, fire making and safety, knots and compass usage, camp cooking and “Leave No Trace” practices.
