Join County Executive Isiah Leggett on June 15 for a special celebration for Caribbean American Heritage Month at the Silver Spring Civic Building.

Leggett is expected to present a proclamation that would designate June as Caribbean American Heritage Month which will be followed by a reception complete with Caribbean-themed music and food. This year’s theme is “Vibrant Communities for a Vibrant County.”

The event will be proceeded by a job fair from 3 to 5:30 p.m. and a business development seminar from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Civic Building, 1 Veterans Plaza, Silver Spring.

On June 16, the fourth annual Aspen Hill Caribbean American Heritage Celebration will take place from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Aspen Hill Library, 4407 Aspen Hill Road, Rockville. There will be Caribbean music, food and dance.
