No one was injured after a man drove his car into the side of an Adelphi house Monday morning, police say.
Around 6:24 a.m. in the 9100 block of Riggs Road, a family was inside its house when the car crashed into the building, said Cpl. Clinton Copeland, a Prince George’s County police spokesman, who noted that there were no injuries to the driver or the family members.
Copeland said an investigation into the incident showed that the man fell asleep while driving and crashed into several parked vehicles before coming to a stop in the side of the home.
After the crash, the driver, whose identity is not yet revealed, fled the scene and was later located by Maryland-National Capital Park Police and taken to an area hospital for evaluation.
Copeland said damages appeared to be minor.
He said the driver will face several citations, but did not immediately know the specific citations.
