Montgomery County residents will have the opportunity to get their insurance questions answered this month.

The Maryland Insurance Administration will be offering information on consumer insurance products from annuities to health, auto and homeowners insurance, during an event at Montgomery County Public Library, Damascus branch June 21. Trained staff from this state agency will be available to answer consumer questions from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“A key aspect of the Maryland Insurance Administration’s mission involves educating the citizens of our state about the choices available to them as consumers of insurance products,” said Therese M. Goldsmith, Maryland Insurance Commissioner, in a press release. “The more informed consumers are, the better equipped they are to make purchasing decisions that are right for them.”

The MIA is an independent state agency in downtown Baltimore that regulates Maryland’s $26-billion insurance industry. More information about the event can be found at www.mdinsurance.state.md.us.
