Two Prince George’s County students are getting a head start on raising funds for college.

Julio Castillo, a sixth-grader at Langley Park-McCormick Elementary School in Hyattsville, and Jamie Castro, a seventh-grader at Buck Lodge Middle School in Adelphi, have each received $5,000 college scholarships as part of the “Dare to Dream...Expect to Succeed” national scholarship competition.

The competition, sponsored by educational software company BrainstormUSA, is open to students in kindergarten through 12th grade.

Julio and Jamie will be honored at a ceremony at Langley Park-McCormick on June 7.
