Anyone interested in running for office in Brunswick must file by July at the city hall.

The position of mayor as well as three council positions will be on the ballot Aug. 7.

Candidates must be at least 21 years old, a U.S. citizen and a Brunswick resident for at least one year preceding the election.

Petitions must be filed at Brunswick City Hall by 4:30 p.m. on July 9. Petitions for council candidates must have 20 signatures of registered voters, and one signer must accompany the petition to city hall to confirm that the signers have properly signed the petition.

A $10 fee is required to run for mayor or council.

Candidates must also file a financial disclosure form.
