Prince George’s County residents can celebrate Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month by looking at the stars.

The Howard B. Owens Science Center in Lanham will put on a program, “South Seas Skies,” featuring the tales of astronomy told by Polynesians and Micronesians. Participants also will learn how they used what they knew about astronomy and stars to navigate across the Pacific Ocean.

The event begins at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the science center, 9601 Greenbelt Road.

Tickets are $3 for students, teachers or seniors and $5 for adults. Children under age 3 are free.

Call 301-918-8750 for more information.
