Prince George’s County police have arrested a Washington, D.C. man and woman in connection to the slaying of a 32-year-old District Heights woman.
Jermaine Anthony Livingston, 40, of the 1900 block of P Street NE, was arrested Thursday on the same street and is charged with killing Raquel Israel of unincorporated District Heights. Livingston is awaiting extradition to Prince George’s County and will be charged with first-degree murder, according to county police.
Kimberly Yvette Taylor, 42, of Washington, D.C., was arrested before Livingston on Thursday and has been charged with second-degree murder and first degree assault. Taylor is being held in the county’s department of corrections, according to online Prince George’s County district court records.
Around 9 p.m. April 4, police responded to the 2100 block of Brooks Drive to find Israel unresponsive in her apartment bedroom, police said. Israel was pronounced dead on the scene, and autopsy results showed that she died from suffocation, said Pfc. Iris Acosta, a county police spokeswoman.
Several days after the homicide, police first identified a female suspect — Taylor — and issued a warrant for her arrest April 22.
Acosta said Taylor gave police information that led to Livingston’s arrest.
Police are still asking anyone with information on the incident to call the county police department’s homicide unit at 301-772-4925 or Crime Solvers at 866-411-TIPS.
Attorney information for Livingston and Taylor was not listed with the courts Friday, according to online court records.
Residence phone numbers for Livingston and Taylor could not be located.
