The Middletown Recreation Council will hold its second-annual May Festival on May 19.

The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Middletown Community Park at 7628 Coblentz Road in Middletown.

It will feature an Earth Day celebration as well as the Great Middletown Scavenger Hunt.

The scavenger hunt will begin at 3 p.m., and participants can take part individually or as part of a team. Prizes are $100 for first prize, $50 for second and $25 for third.

A map of the course will be provided and a task at each site, and participants’ maps will be stamped at each stop before they can move on.

The festival will also include a repurposed art contest to celebrate Earth Day, with presentations on display from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The contest is open to all ages, with cash prizes of $100 for first place, $75 for second and $25 for third.

Applications for the events can be downloaded on the council’s website at www.middletownrec.com.
