From Westat Nine employees from Westat, a Rockville-based research firm, raised $12,000 for the mission of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society: to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkinís disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

Nine employees from Westat, a Rockville-based research company, ran 13.1 miles in an effort to fund leukemia research.

The staff members joined 16,000 runners in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of the National Capitol Area’s Rock ‘n’ Roll USA Half-Marathon in March.

And now the totals are in; the group raised $12,128, the third highest corporate amount collected for the race.

The half marathon wound through Washington, D.C.

Team Westat consists of Pat Davis, Joanna Del Grosso, Nancy Dianis, Laura Freimanis, Jennifer Green, Anna Krauss, Margot Krauss, Wendy Lee and Kathleen Robergeau-Hunt.
