Brown, 76, found dead in his home on Friday, police say

by Natalie McGillStaff Writer

The death of an elderly Seat Pleasant man found inside his home Friday is being labeled "suspicious," according to Prince George's County police.

Benjamin Tillman Brown Jr., 76, of the 6000 block of Seat Pleasant Drive was found dead in his home around 4:15 p.m. after a concerned neighbor called Seat Pleasant Police to check on Brown, Seat Pleasant Mayor Eugene Grant said.

There were no signs of forced entry into Brown's home, and the Seat Pleasant Volunteer Fire Company was called to gain access to his home, Grant said. Cpl. Rodney Gause, a county police spokesman, did not have details from detectives on why Brown’s death is labeled suspicious.

Prince George's County police have not ruled Brown's death a homicide as of Monday but are not releasing the condition Brown’s body was found in because it is under investigation, Gause said.
