A University of Maryland student was attacked outside of a campus dorm early Sunday morning according to campus police.
The male student told police he was walking on Knox Road after 2 a.m. toward campus when he walked past a group of 15 people and one of them yelled out "What's your shoe size" which the student ignored, said Capt. Marc Limansky, a University of Maryland Police Department spokesman.
When the student continued on to Charles Hall, three males — one on a bicycle — approached the student, physically assaulted him and then fled the scene, Limansky said. The student was treated and released from the hospital for a minor injury, according to a university police press release.
Limansky said the student believes the three males who attacked him were part of the same crowd of 15 he passed while walking up Knox Road. Limansky did not have any approximate ages for the suspects and did not know where the victim was coming from.
