One or more unknown culprits ignited materials Tuesday night in the basement of a Lexington Park home, state investigators report, but its tenants discovered the blaze, which was quickly extinguished by responding Bay District volunteer firefighters.

Damages to the two-story home of Robert Taylor on Great Mills Lane from the 10:12 p.m. fire were estimated at $100, according to a notice of investigation by deputy state fire marshal Dexter Hodges. No one was injured.

Investigators requested that anyone with information about the blaze call 443-550-6832.
