Anyone who believes that having insurance companies pay for emergency ambulance service won't cost all of us is sorely mistaken [“A responsible decision: Leggett is right to re-float ambulance fee, despite 2010 vote”]

Does anyone believe for a minute that the insurance companies, when faced with additional expenses, will not pass them on to everyone, users and non-users?

True it may be that individual users with or without insurance will not pay directly, but make no mistake, we will all pay whether or not we use emergency ambulance services.

Let's keep emergency ambulance service "free" just like police and fire services. Let's not let the fear of having to pay for an emergency ambulance call deter its use, and hopefully not cost lives.
