A family’s deepest fears were confirmed Tuesday when Vicki Lee Ramey, 56, of Olney was found deceased in her vehicle in Germantown, according to a Montgomery County police news release.
According to the release, police said there is no indication of foul play in the death. Ramey was found in the area of Kinster and Crystal Rock drives around 2 p.m. Tuesday.
“Police received information that car was in that location and went to check,” said Janelle Smith, Montgomery County Police officer. She added they do not know how long the car was in that location.
Just days before Ramey’s body was found, her daughter appealed to the community to help locate her mother, who had been missing since April 24.
“It is definitely concerning,” Tori Ramey said at the time. “This is not like her to be gone for so long and to not to contact me, my sister or my father, her ex-husband.”
Ramey, of the 3400 block of Queensborough Drive in Olney had last been seen at a Sunoco gas station, at the intersection of Olney-Sandy Spring and Spartan roads, in her 2004 blue Toyota Corolla.
In addition to searches conducted by Montgomery County police, Tori Ramey said she and other family members also called hospitals, rehabilitation centers, jails and other facilities.
The family thanked the public and those who spread the word about Ramey’s disappearance, according to the police news release.
Tori Ramey said her mother dealt with emotional issues since her brother, Kenneth Hancock Ramey Jr., died suddenly from a heart issue in 2009 at the age of 27.
“My mother hasn’t been the same since,” she said days ago.
