The American Legion Post 68 recently announced that it would sponsor and host the Kelly Miller Circus, with the assistance of Boy Scout Troop 264.
Two performances will take place on the grounds of old Montgomery General Hospital on June 5. Performance times are at 4:30 and 7:30 p.m.
The Kelly Miller Circus has performed in Olney since 2000, originally under the sponsorship of the Olney Rotary Club. Due to a decline in the Rotary Club’s membership, the American Legion assumed sponsorship of the circus last year.
“The Post is very excited about sponsoring this event,” said Commander Halsey Smith. “The money raised will help to provide services to our veterans, as well as to the community.”
Tickets will be available at several locations throughout the community, which will be announced soon.
Post 68 was chartered in Sandy Spring in 1920, and remains active in supporting the community with its 250 members representing the military from World War II through the present.
