Northbound lanes of Clopper Road near Quince Orchard Road in Gaithersburg remain closed as of 3:45 p.m. today after a tractor-trailer crash at noon, according to Montgomery County police.

The tractor-trailer crashed for unknown reasons, according to police spokeswoman Angela Cruz. Cruz did not know which direction the vehicle was traveling.

The driver of the tractor-trailer was transported to Shady Grove Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Cruz said.

The northbound lanes are closed between Firstfield Road and Quince Orchard Road. Southbound lanes are open.

The trailer was full and its contents spilled on the roadway, and the road will be closed until the scene is cleared, police said.

Police spokeswoman Officer Janelle Smith said at 3:45 p.m. that she did not know how long the lanes would remain closed.
