Lockheed Martin of Bethesda promoted Larry A. Lawson to executive vice president of its aeronautics business area, succeeding Ralph D. Heath, who is retiring. Lawson will be succeeded as vice president and general manager of the F-35 program by Orlando Carvalho, who will be succeeded as vice president and deputy of the F-35 program by Lorraine Martin. Martin will be succeeded as vice president of the C-130 program by George Shultz, vice president of modernization programs for aeronautics. Before joining the company, Lawson worked for McDonnell Douglas.
Abt Associates named John Palen a senior adviser for human resources for health in its international health division in Bethesda. Previously, Palen was senior technical adviser for health systems strengthening and human resources for health at the State Department, and associate professor of health policy and global health at George Washington University School of Public Health.
Holy Cross Hospital of Silver Spring named the following trustees: Lynne D. Diggs, Rona E. Kramer, Sister Ruth Marie Nickerson and Hercules Pinkney.
