Montgomery

Lockheed Martin of Bethesda promoted Larry A. Lawson to executive vice president of its aeronautics business area, succeeding Ralph D. Heath, who is retiring. Lawson will be succeeded as vice president and general manager of the F-35 program by Orlando Carvalho, who will be succeeded as vice president and deputy of the F-35 program by Lorraine Martin. Martin will be succeeded as vice president of the C-130 program by George Shultz, vice president of modernization programs for aeronautics. Before joining the company, Lawson worked for McDonnell Douglas.

Abt Associates named John Palen a senior adviser for human resources for health in its international health division in Bethesda. Previously, Palen was senior technical adviser for health systems strengthening and human resources for health at the State Department, and associate professor of health policy and global health at George Washington University School of Public Health.

Holy Cross Hospital of Silver Spring named the following trustees: Lynne D. Diggs, Rona E. Kramer, Sister Ruth Marie Nickerson and Hercules Pinkney. Diggs is a board-certified internist in private practice in Kensington; Kramer is senior vice president and general counsel of Kramer Enterprises in Silver Spring; Nickerson is area coordinator of North America for the Sisters of the Holy Cross, Notre Dame, Ind., and former president and CEO of St. Agnes Medical Center in Fresno, Calif.; and Pinkney is president emertius of Montgomery College. New officers for 2012 are Edward H. Bersoff, chairman; Paul T. Kaplun, vice chairman; and Pamela G. Parker, secretary-treasurer. Bersoff is chairman of ATS of McLean, Va.; Kaplun is a partner at Venable in Washington, D.C.; and Parker is a board-certified pediatrician in private practice in Silver Spring and clinical professor of pediatrics at George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences in Washington.

St. Agnes Hospital named Lesley Stephens Hanes director of its pediatric emergency department. Previously, Hanes was an emergency pediatric physician at Hackensack (N.J.) University Medical Center.

Chesapeake Systems of Baltimore named Shawn Watkins of New Freedom, Pa., director of its home and office division. Previously, Watkins was mid-Atlantic field service representative for Hospitality Systems and lead Mac specialist for Goucher College's information technology department. Chesapeake also named David Ryan of Ellicott City head of its regional and national marketing efforts. Previously, Ryan was an account manager for Video Labs and vice president/general manager at GVI. Also, Mike McIntyre of Carney was named an account manager overseeing the company's new audio/visual division. Previously, McIntyre was an account manager for Diversified Systems.

Jackson Lewis named Stephen M. Silvestri a partner in its Baltimore office. Previously, Silvestri was head of Miles & Stockbridge's labor law practice.

Hogan Cos. of Annapolis named Phillip Charles Musgrave vice president of equity investments. Musgrave is founder and former managing principal of Garden Street Capital.
