Potomac 74, Surrattsville 48
Potomac led 25-8 at the end of the first quarter and rolled to the win in Clinton on Tuesday night. Valshawn Wallace had 19 points, Dion Wiley had 13 and Ramone Saunders added 12 for Potomac (8-5 overall, 6-3 County 3A/2A/1A League). Markell McCloud had 16 points to lead Surrattsville (4-8, 2-7).
Largo 86, Forestville 78
Largo held off Forestville in a closely contested game at Forestville High. The Lions led by just two points at halftime and by one point at the end of the third quarter. Largo outscored Forestville 28-21 in the fourth quarter. Derrick Colter had 29 points and Lafayette Nelson had 27 to lead Largo. The backcourt duo combined to hit 24 of 29 from the foul line, and Largo hit 28 of 39 from the line as a team. Daemond Carter added 16 points for Largo (10-2 overall, 8-1 County 3A/2A/1A League). Juwan Cole had 12 points, Clarence Johnson had 15, Cori Best had 13 and Derrick Grant had 11 for Forestville (5-8, 3-6).
Gwynn Park 65, Friendly 56
Jarvis Hawkins had 30 points, seven rebounds, seven steals and five assists to lead the way for Gwynn Park (9-4 overall, 8-1 County 3A/2A/1A League. Marcel Boyd added 12 points and nine rebounds and Xavier Richards had 11 points and 13 rebounds. Victor Blakey had 17 points and Jordan Gaither had 15 for Friendly (6-5, 6-3).
Fairmont Heights 71, Douglass 65
Reggie Nelson led Fairmont Heights with 23 points. Javon Nance added 15 points and Kavan Sclafford had 12 as the Hornets improved to 4-9 overall and 2-7 in the County 3A/2A/1A League. Saquan Epps-Walker led Douglass with 20 points. The Eagles are 5-7, 4-6.
Bladensburg 56, Wise 55
Wise outscored Bladensburg 23-19 in the fourth quarter, but the Mustangs held on to earn a one-point victory on Tuesday night. Michael Jones had 12 points, Elijah Smith added 11 and Tim Adade had 10 points and 12 rebounds as Bladensburg improved to 4-7 overall and 4-5 in the County 4A League. Wayne Langston had 17 points to lead Wise (6-6, 4-5).
Roosevelt 88, Laurel 48
Roosevelt (9-3, 7-2 County 4A League) jumped out to a 24-2 lead in the first quarter and led Laurel (2-9, 2-7), 57-11 at halftime. Trevor Evans had 21 points and B.J. Antoine and Chaun Miller each had 13 to lead Roosevelt. Brandon Roberson had 19 points and Adrian Rousseau added 14 for Laurel.
High Point 70, Oxon Hill 67
High Point held off a furious Oxon Hill rally in the fourth quarter. The Clippers outscored the Eagles 24-17 over the final 8 minutes, but couldn't complete the comeback. Rob Tyler had 17 points and Kayode Ajenifuja and Everett Coker each had 14 points for High Point (5-7 overall, 4-5 County 4A). Magic Harris had 10 points and Alex Long had 17 points and 10 rebounds to lead Oxon Hill (4-8, 4-5).
DuVal 75, Northwestern 47
DuVal led by five points at halftime and extended the lead to 14 by the end of the third quarter. Charles Ekanyanwu had 17 points, Kevin Kuteyi had 15 and John Monkam added 12 for the Tigers, who improved to 9-3 overall and 7-2 in the County 4A League. Jalen Prince had 11 points and Jovan Shipp added 10 for Northwestern (2-10, 1-8).
Suitland 68, Parkdale 61
Suitland rallied in the fourth quarter to fend off an upset bid by Parkdale. The Rams outscored the Panthers 26-8 over the final 8 minutes to earn the victory, improving to 8-3 overall and 6-3 in the County 4A League. Parkdale dropped to 2-11, 1-8. Dwayne Clinton had 16 points and seven rebounds and DeAndre Gatling had 15 points and 20 rebounds to lead Suitland. Daquan Page also had a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Suitland's Roddy Peters, the county's leading scorer (23.1 points per game) was held to a season-low 11 points. Parkdale's Marcellus Gail hit seven 3-pointers and finished with 29 points. Charles Cooley added 11 points and Bredell Wallace had 10.
Pallotti 85, Friends 67
Pallotti improved to 14-5 overall and 8-1 in the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association B Conference. Marcus Bright led the Panthers with 13 points, and Jeff Holland and Marcus Scott each had 10 points.
Riverdale Baptist 88, Clinton Christian 43
Keon Hill had 18 points, seven assists and four steals to lead the way for Riverdale Baptist (21-2). Olajuwon Lewis had 15 points and Branon Peel added 10 for the Crusaders, who have won 15 games in a row since a Dec. 10 loss to Bullis. Terrence Jackson had 16 points and Steven Holloman added 10 for Clinton Christian (5-9).
