The Prince George’s County Minority Business Development Division will host two free outreach and educational programs in January.
“Building Effective Teams and Collaboration in Your Business” will take place from noon to 3 p.m. Jan. 25 at the Hyattsville Branch Library at 6350 Adelphi Road. “Merchant Services: Payment Processing Solutions for Small Businesses” will be offered from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. Jan. 31 at Spauldings Branch Library, 5811 Old Silver Hill Road, District Heights.

Beltsville equipment company leases space
Metropolitan Equipment Group of Beltsville has leased 15,589 square feet at 12104 Indian Creek Court in Beltsville.
The space is part of a 44,000-square-foot building at Ammendale Tech Park, owned by Cabot Properties of Boston.
Aquilent contracts with postal service
Aquilent, a Web-based service provider in Laurel, has contracted with the U.S. Postal Service to support its daily operations online. This contract builds on Aquilent’s support role for the agency for the past decade.
The postal service's website provides consumers and businesses with 24-hour access to products, services and information, and receives about 30 million visitors per month.
Chillum school names new administrator
The Children's Guild, which operates schools for children with developmental disabilities in Baltimore and Chillum, has promoted Brenda Beard to administrative head of its Chillum school.
Beard has been with the nonprofit since 1999 as a special education and training teacher and later an assessment coordinator supervisor.
Array appoints new director
Array Information Technology of Greenbelt has appointed Keith Galumbeck director of its Microsoft practice.
Galumbeck, previously Microsoft practice manager with Science Applications International, will be tasked with introducing new services to help government agencies implement more sophisticated collaboration platforms, achieve better operability and create more effective data management policies and practices, according to a company statement.
Almost 120,000 square feet sold in county
NAI KLNB of Columbia has brokered the sale of 117,900 square feet of space in Prince George's, including the Dunmore Building and Ritchie Business Center in Capitol Heights and the Rainswood Building in Landover, to Korth Construction of Utah. The properties are part of the 192,900-square-foot Scott Group Industrial Portfolio, which also included a property in Glen Burnie.
The Dunmore Building has 16,500 square feet, the Ritchie Business Center 54,000 square feet and the Rainswood Building 47,000 square feet.
About 83 percent of the entire portfolio is leased and occupied by nearly 60 different tenants, according to NAI KLNB information.
University gets cybersecurity partner
Lunarline, an Arlington, Va., provider of cybersecurity services, is partnering with the Cybersecurity Center at the University of Maryland, College Park, to develop expertise and technology ideas.
“We are very pleased to be a part of this collaborative partnership with the Maryland Cybersecurity Center,” CEO Waylon Krush said in a statement. “We look forward to interacting with [university] students and faculty to promote the advancement of the cybersecurity and privacy industry.”
