On Saturday, Frederick roustabouts can set sail with Douglas Fairbanks as he charts a course for revenge and love in “The Black Pirate” at The Weinberg Center.

The 1926 silent film will be accompanied by a rousing score courtesy of the Weinberg’s mighty Wurlitzer organ.

Showtime is 3 p.m. and tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for seniors and students.

For more information, visit www.weinbergcenter.org.

Then, head over to The Delaplaine Visual Arts Education Center where a reception will be held for Frederick artist Deborah Pearl Souders from 3 to 5 p.m.

Works will be on sale, with proceeds to benefit the Delaplaine Center and the Frederick Community College Art Department.

Souders’ latest exhibit opened Jan. 7 at the gallery, featuring more than 50 pieces of art including paintings, drawings, collage and sculpture.

She taught art for many years at Frederick Community College and The Delaplaine and, in 2006, participated in the retrospective “Nine Women: 25 Years” celebrating the anniversary of a 1981 exhibit at Kemp Hall featuring nine women artists from throughout the county.

Fans of showtunes can have a ball at Way Off Broadway with their 2012 kick off, “Damn Yankees.”

A fun-filled Faustian retread about a middle-aged fanboy turned homerun hero thanks to a deal with the devilish Mr. Applegate, the Broadway smash is known for hit songs like “Whatever Lola Wants,” “Two Lost Souls” and “Heart.”

“Damn Yankees” runs the bases through March 3 at the dinner theater.
