Brunswick residents braved cold temperatures Sunday morning and plunged into the frigid Potomac River to help raise money for charity.
The Brunswick Area Recreational Council held its fifth annual Freezin’ for a Reason on New Year’s Day at the Brunswick Family Campground. Spectators watched as some 20 to 40 people plunged into the river.
The money raised will go to three local charities, chosen by the recreation council in the coming weeks.
