Player of the Year
Aaran Parry
Tuscarora
Junior
Before the season, Parry wrote her goals on a chalkboard hanging on the back of her bedroom door: 23 goals and 54 points, both of which would have set single-season program records.
That she fell short speaks to her incredibly high standards, not her production.
Parry had 56 points, but she scored "just" 22 goals to tie the record she set as a freshman. Those numbers moved her into first place all-time in the program for goals (56) tied her atop the assists leaderboard (30) with teammate Emily Marshall.
"More than a highlight from her, I think the key was the continued maturation in her ability to be very consistent in her performance she put on the field," Tuscarora coach Mark Wolcott said of Parry. "That was always the growth we'd been looking for."
In addition to leading Tuscarora, Parry visited the University of Memphis and the University of Maryland, both ranked in the top 10 at the time, during the fall. But with one year left, Parry will have a chance to add to her records.
"She's so dynamic individually, but you're looking for a growth in her both connect to the game and tactically be a little more intelligent along with the technical brilliance," Wolcott said.
