Global Facility Solutions (GFS) announced LEED Silver certification today at nine buildings owned by Beacon Capital Partners located throughout the District of Columbia and northern Virginia. The certifications mark a major milestone in the multi-phase LEED analysis and commissioning project with Beacon Capital Partners and building manager Cassidy Turley.
LEED certification was awarded under the LEED for Existing Buildings: Operations & Maintenance (LEED for Existing Buildings: O&M) rating system, developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). LEED, or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design is an internationally-recognized green building certification system.
Working in collaboration with building manager Cassidy Turley, GFS coordinated the prerequisite and credit process for LEED for Existing Buildings: O&M. GFS completed all necessary LEED EB O&M documents and supporting documentation as part of the scope of work, including ASHRAE Level 1 energy audits, preventative maintenance plan analysis, building operating plan development and refrigerant management analysis at each of the facilities. In addition, complete HVAC and controls retro-commissioning at three facilities was completed under the LEED credits 2.1 and 2.2. All work within the nine buildings was completed within a three month performance period.
Global Facility Solutions is headquartered in Mount Airy.
