Lockheed Martin of Bethesda named John C. Larson, now vice president and F-35 program manager, vice president of program management in its Aeronautics Business Area. He will be succeeded by Eric R. Branyan, F-35 deputy and vice president. Branyan will be succeeded in Fort Worth, Texas, by Orlando D. Carvalho, president of Lockheed’s Mission Systems & Sensors unit in Washington, D.C., within its Electronic Systems Business Area. Carvalho will be succeeded by Dale P. Bennett, leader of its Global Training and Logistics unit. Bennett, in turn, will be succeeded by Denise A. Saiki, vice president and general manager of Mission Systems’ Undersea Systems line of business. Lisa B. Callahan succeeds Saiki; she is now vice president of maritime ballistic missile defense programs. Also, Susan B. Kiehl, vice president of program management, will become vice president of the Earned Value Management process. The moves are effective Aug. 1.

Robert Aceituno, tax manager with Councilor, Buchanan & Mitchell of Bethesda, won the 2011 Impact Award from the Greater Washington Society of CPAs for his “hard work and dedication” as its tax committee chairman.

Payroll Network of Kensington named Kelly Reap district sales manager for Northern Virginia. Previously, Reap was a sales consultant for Paychex and branch rental manager for Enterprise Rent-A-Car.

Sigma-Tau Pharmaceuticals of Gaithersburg named Dave Lemus vice president of finance. Previously, Lemus was CFO of MorphoSys, controller and operations manager at Hoffmann-La Roche, and treasurer at Lindt Chocolate.

Geraldine Lanier, assistant vice president of human resources at Geico of Chevy Chase, won this year’s UMUC Achiever Award from the University of Maryland University College Alumni Association.

Schurz Communications named Andy Bruns publisher of The Herald-Mail in Hagerstown, succeeding John League, who is retiring in July. Bruns will remain publisher of Schurz’s Daily American in Somerset, Pa.

Whiteford, Taylor & Preston of Baltimore named M. Trent Zivkovich counsel in its real estate and environmental practices, and part of its green building and clean energy industry groups.

Monarch Academy Baltimore Campus named Sundai M. Riggins principal. Previously, Riggins was assistant principal at Brightwood Education Campus in Washington, D.C.; chairwoman of the English department at Elizabeth Seton High School in Bladensburg; ninth-grade English teacher at Archbishop Carroll High School in Washington; and language arts and mathematics teacher at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic School in Takoma Park.

The National Aquarium Institute of Baltimore named John C. Racanelli CEO. Previously, Racanelli was CEO of the Florida Aquarium and vice president of marketing and development with the Monterey Bay Aquarium.

Loyola Blakefield School of Towson named Paul A. Tiburzi to its board of trustees. Tiburzi is managing partner of DLA Piper’s Baltimore office.

Merkle of Columbia named Paul Evers vice president and client group leader and Sandra Swindle senior director, technology solutions, both in its retail banking and consumer finance group. Previously, Evers was an associate partner with Rosetta, and also worked for Ernst & Young, Diamond Management & Technology Consultants, Cendant and Wyndham Hotel Group. Swindle worked for Acxiom. Merkle also named Will Stansbury vice president, technology solutions, nonprofit. Previously, Stansbury co-founded and was vice president of technology at Target Software.

Handy International of Salisbury named Rosario Del Nero senior vice president and executive corporate chef. Previously, Del Nero owned Apple Orchard Restaurant in Ipswich, Mass., taught at the Cambridge (Mass.) The Investment Program Association of Ellicott City named David Maccarella director of education. Previously, Maccarella worked in the financial services division of Thomson Reuters and was project manager in the web technologies group at the New York Stock Exchange.

Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake in Baltimore promoted Lisa Rusyniak from COO to CEO and president, succeeding Marge Thomas at the end of the year. Rusyniak joined Goodwill in 1997 as director of marketing and disability services.

Secure Technologies Group of Columbia named Adam Suri senior vice president of cyber operations. Previously, Suri was director of cybersecurity with the Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development, co-founded Beny Bigalos and worked for Yafo Networks, Cisco Systems, Honeywell and Charles Industries.

Steven J. Kelly of Miles & Stockbridge in Baltimore won the 2011 Legal Advocacy Award from the National Crime Victim Law Institute for his work on behalf of crime victims and their families.

Constellation Energy Nuclear Group of Baltimore named Joe Pacher site vice president and Sonny Dean plant general manager at its R.E. Ginna Nuclear Power Plant in Ontario, N.Y. Pacher, now plant general manager, succeeds John Carlin. Previously, he was engineering manager at Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station in New York. Dean worked at Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant in Lusby.

The University of Maryland Children's Hospital named Jennifer Stearman chairwoman of its board of visitors. Stearman is a Baltimore partner with McGuireWoods.
