Golfer of the Year

Jack BonifantSherwood, Senior

Mr. Consistency led the county with a 36.5-per-round stroke average, finished third at the District 2 Tournament.

Coach of the Year

John ThomasSt. Andrew’s, Sixth year

Program finished just 1-7-2 a year ago, yet breezed to an undefeated, 10-0 season and a conference title in 2007.

Third consecutive year on the first team. Split District 2 title with sister, Diana.

Diana Brown, Churchill, Soph.

Shared District 2 title and shot second-best round of any girl in county at state meet.

Ralfe Hickman, St. Andrew’s, Fr.

Top overall golfer on undefeated and Mid-Atlantic Athletic Conference champion.

Mike Kamargo, Whitman, Sr.

The best golfer on a Whitman team that broke state meet scoring record by eight strokes.

Cameron Kennedy, Magruder, Jr.

Arguably the surprise of the fall. Finished second in the county in stroke average (37.33).

Caroline Nathan, Whitman, Sr.

Averaged 38.5 strokes per round, also had county’s best girls score (159) at state meet.

Gary Raizon, Churchill, Jr.

Thanks to a nearly flawless 34-shot, back-9, won the District 2 tournament by one stroke.

Andrew Stein, Wootton, Jr.

Solid all season, but his best performance was a two-round 145 at state meet.

Ritchie Steinwand, Springbrook, Jr.

In a class by himself in the county’s Kohut Division with a 37.5-stroke average.
